Job purpose:

The Director of Operations, Training & Development, is accountable for the overall business operation, including development of processes and procedures, policy evolution and staff training. Reporting to the Managing Director and allowing him to assume a more ambassadorial role within the business, the Director of Operations, Training & Development will be responsible for day-to-day business operations, although not the specific recruitment function, to ensure that the business consistently delivers the highest standards to both clients and internal stakeholders.

Principal Accountabilities:

•The Director of Operations, Training & Development is principally responsible for the following:
•As part of the Senior Management Team, help the business achieve its potential for global expansion in the Aviation industry,
•The efficient administration of the business, including the delivery of aspects of the company’s P&L.
•Working with the management team, identify gaps in the business and manage the recruitment of new team members to assist in closing those gaps,
•Lead all areas of recruitment and selection in conjunction with the Managing Director, direct candidate attraction and campaign searches
•Help the recruitment team deliver upon their targets by increasing team performance through the development of training, remuneration and benefits packages within the business’s budget,
•Providing leadership and training where appropriate to meet current and future business requirements of the business,
•Adherence to and development of processes and procedures to include a zero-tolerance policy in respect of non-compliance,
•Production and reporting of key operational statistics and performance indicators for senior management purposes where requested,
•Direct client liaison where required to both internal and external clients/stakeholders representing the company at all times in the appropriate manner,
•Be accountable for key company client accounts ensuring customer satisfaction at all times.
•Lead the development of the onboarding process for new joiners.
•Development of the company’s HR Procedures and Processes, together with Health and Safety.
•Invoice approval / verification within the business unit.
•Create and manage the company’s ongoing training strategy for existing employees.
•Develop and deliver an in-house training program ‘The Academy’, for non-experienced entry level employees to take them on their career journey with the business,
•Analyse employee training needs and monitor return on investment using feedback and quality assurance measures
•Responsible for the consistent delivery of core skills training

Person specification:

•A proven background in an operational role within a recruitment company,
•A passion for both aviation and service delivery with knowledge of working in a highly regulated industry would be desirable, although not a requirement,
•A strong understanding of the commercial principles underpinning the core business requirement and a demonstrated ability to exercise commercial judgment in line with operational objectives
•An efficient and organised personality, comfortable managing a team
•Exceptional interpersonal skills with experience of interaction at all levels including clients, senior management and board level
•A highly analytical eye for detail with a tenacious personality to ensure the highest levels of accuracy and productivity at all times

Accountable/Reporting to – Managing Director
Accountable for – All aspects of the company’s day to day business operation and training.
Principal contacts -Directors, Recruitment Manager, Accounts Team.
