Introducing Ryan Fox – Commercial Aviation Consultant
Q. Please describe your role at Oaklands Global.
I was brought into Oaklands to build our Commercial Aviation portfolio and presence. I have over 17 years’ experience in the travel sector and so I have naturally moved into the strategic and senior corporate roles, with 80% of my time working with Commercial airlines in the APAC region.
Q. How long have you been working at Oaklands?
Q. Have you always had an interest in recruitment?
Yes, it had always been in the back of my mind and was definitely an immediate attraction once I had exhausted the Travel Management Company (TMC) world.
Q. Why is Oaklands such a good place to work?
I love it here at Oaklands, primarily the fact I can run my own desk/business within a structured, supporting, entrepreneurial, growing global business.
The work ethic is simply professionalism and hard work pays.
Q. What are your favourite aspects of the job?
I love the challenges of working in a global market, particularly Asia. The responsibility and exposure to highly successful and experienced professionals, plus supporting career advancements and, you could say dreams.
I also thrive on new business and client development.
Q. Have you noticed any remarkable changes in the aviation/aerospace industry since you joined the business?
Our sector is an ever-evolving beast and there are political and economic factors affecting the global market daily, particularly in the EMEA region right now.
Q. What do you find most rewarding about your job?
Making a difference in such a buzzing industry – and the fantastic incentives!
